Winter is coming alive in Alberton with the return of the Alberton Winter Carnival, a fun-filled, family-friendly celebration packed with activities for all ages. From February 20–22, residents and visitors are invited to bundle up and enjoy a full weekend of food, music, games, and classic winter experiences right here in town.
❄️ Friday, February 20
Snowman / Snowfort Building Contest
Get creative! Build a snowman or snow fort in your own yard and let the Rec team know you’re participating. Prizes will be awarded for the top three creations, with winners announced during Music Sunday evening.
Party with Perry and Cathy (6:30–8:30 PM)
Kick off the Winter Carnival with live music at the Heritage Centre. A relaxed, welcoming evening to start the festivities and enjoy some great local entertainment.
🥞 Saturday, February 21
Free Pancake Breakfast (9–11 AM)
Start your day right with free pancakes and sausages at the Heritage Centre — a perfect way to launch a full day of winter fun.
Indoor Snowball Crafts & Games (11 AM–12 PM)
Head to the Alberton Library for crafts and games for families and kids, hosted by Librarian Kelly Gillis.
Horse & Sleigh Rides & Sledding (12–3 PM)
Bundle up and enjoy a classic winter experience behind the Fire Hall, complete with a hot chocolate station.
Seniors Games (3:30–5:30 PM)
Seniors are invited to the Heritage Centre for an afternoon of games and social time.
Paint with Sara (6–8 PM)
Create your own winter scene at the Town Hall. Cost is $25 per person and pre-registration is required.
🍫 Sunday, February 22
Chocolate Bar Bingo (12–2 PM)
Bring two chocolate bars for admission and enjoy 16 rounds of bingo at the Heritage Centre.
Glow Family Skate (2:20–3:20 PM)
A glowing good time on the ice! This family skate is a fundraiser for the Alberton Elementary Playground Fund. Admission is $5, with glow products available for purchase.
David Gordon Good Neighbour Award Presentation (5:30 PM)
Join the community in recognizing outstanding citizenship at the Heritage Centre.
Music with Jonny and Louise Arsenault (5:30–8 PM)
Wrap up the Winter Carnival with live music and toe-tapping tunes to close out a fantastic weekend.
