David Gordon Memorial Good Neighbour Award
Established in 2023, the David Gordon Memorial Good Neighbour Award honors the memory of David Gordon, Alberton's late mayor, known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping others. This annual award celebrates individuals who embody the spirit of community and selflessness that David exemplified.
The award is presented each year during Alberton's Winter Carnival to a resident who goes above and beyond to make the neighbourhood or local community a better place to live or work. Recipients are recognized for their acts of kindness, whether through ongoing volunteer work or extraordinary gestures that positively impact others.
2023 Recipient: Priscilla Hustler
Priscilla Hustler was the first recipient of the David Gordon Memorial Good Neighbour Award. Recognized during Alberton’s Winter Carnival on March 2, 2023, Priscilla was celebrated for her dedication to supporting local seniors by providing transportation to appointments, delivering groceries, visiting them in hospitals, and more.
During the presentation, she received a framed certificate and gift cards, and her name will be displayed on the official plaque, which hangs in Alberton Town Hall.
