Budget information for the current and previous fiscal years is available below. Please note that up until 2018, the fiscal year was 1 January to 31 December. In accordance with the Municipal Government Act, the fiscal year will now be recorded from 1 April to 31 March. To accommodate this change, the 2018-2019 fiscal year was from 1 January 2018 to 31 March 2019.

The municipal property tax rates for the Town of Alberton are as follows:
Home Builders: For a period of three years, newly constructed homes built in the town will be exempt from municipal property taxes. This exemption starts when construction is completed. The deadline for applying for the tax incentive refund will be six months after the three-year period ends. This policy became effective on 13 March 2017.
Emma Drive Subdivision: Any new residential construction within the Emma Drive subdivision will be exempt from municipal property taxes for a period of seven years. Construction must begin within 12-18 months of the purchase of the lot. This policy is effective as of 13 March 2017.
Newly Constructed Businesses: Any newly constructed business will be exempt from municipal property taxes for two years, starting upon the completion of construction or the purchase of an existing business. This does not apply to residential rental units. The applicant must comply with all Provincial regulations and Town bylaws, and submit an application before construction begins.
