Myles K. Getson Memorial Volunteer Award
The Myles K. Getson Memorial Volunteer Award was established in 2001 to honor the memory of Myles K. Getson, a dedicated community leader and volunteer. Myles was actively involved with numerous organizations, including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Auxiliary and the Alberton Fire Department. He served on Town Council for four consecutive terms from 1988 until his passing on April 29, 2000.
Each year, the Alberton Town Council recognizes a member of the community who exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism and service, continuing the legacy of Myles K. Getson.
