MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT
Pursuant to Section 42 of the Municipal Government Act, and Subsection 25(1) of the Municipal Election Regulations
Public notice is hereby given to the electors of the Town of Alberton that a Municipal Election will be held on November 2nd, 2026, to elect the Mayor and councillor(s) for the Town of Alberton for the term of office terminating on the 6th day of December 2030.
The nomination period for the council positions noted above opens on October 7th, 2026 and closes at 2:00 pm on Nomination Day, October 16th, 2026.
Nominations can be received at the election office 3 Emma Drive, Alberton by the Municipal Electoral Officer (MEO) or Returning Officer at the following times:
- 8:30 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00–3:30 pm
- Friday, October 16, 2026, 9 am to 2 pm
Candidates are responsible for confirming their eligibility to be nominated prior to submitting their nomination form.
The deadline for correcting elector information shall be no later than 11:59 am on October 20th, 2026.
