Public Rezone Meeting – February 6

A public meeting will be held on February 6th at 7:00 pm in Alberton Town Hall, 3 Emma Drive to provide an opportunity for Town Council to hear comments from property owners and residents pertaining to 2 applications to change the designation of a property.

The first application is to rezone lot PID 18820 at 370 Main Street from the current designation of Commercial (C1) to a designation of Multi-Unit Residential zone (R3) to allow for future multi-unit residences.
This request also requires an amendment to Appendix “A” – Future Land Use Map of the Official Plan to change the land use designation from Commercial to Medium Density Residential.

The second application is a request to rezone PID 18812 on the corner of Carroll and Lorne Streets from its current designation of Single Unit Residential (R1) to Commercial (C1) to allow for a duplex and a commercial space.
This request also requires an amendment to Appendix “A” – Future Land Use Map of the Official Plan to change the land use designation from Low Density Residential to Commercial.

The public is also encouraged to provide written comments pertaining to said amendments, which can be sent to info@townofalberton.ca or dropped off at the Alberton Town Office during business hours. The deadline for written comments is noon time on February 6th.
